RSI is pleased to co-sponsor the 12th PPNW workshop

The focus of the PPNW workshop is the physics of inland and coastal water bodies, and their interactions with the physical and biogeochemical processes that control water quality, ecosystem function, and the services such systems provide. The workshop is held at the UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center, Incline Village, Nevada, USA.

RSI's Rolf Lueck will attend the workshop and present RSI's latest product, the microSquid.  The microSquid can be easily integrated with Notek's Vector ADV to provide high-resolution scalar flux measurements

When:   Sep 02, 2008 08:00 AM to Sep 04, 2008 05:00 PM
Where: UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center, Incline Village, Nevada, USA

VMP-5500 featured in Japanese Media

Rockland Scientific's deep ocean profiler VMP-5500 was recently featured on Japanese Radio, with supporting picture documentation posted at http://www.1242.com/giza/onair_080329.html . The Japanese national radio station KBS Todai reported on a successful research cruise conducted by Professor Toshi Hibiya of Tokyo University, who operates two VMP-5500 profilers. Professor Hibiya uses the VMP-5500 turbulence profiler to study deep ocean mixing processes resulting from the interaction of tidal currents with ocean topography.
